We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our services:

First and last name
Email address
User preferences (e.g., list of favorites)
Onboarding responses (e.g. goals for learning)
Technical data (e.g., IP address and device identifiers) collected automatically for security and session management.

We do not collect payment information, geolocation data, or any sensitive personal data. All purchases are processed securely by Apple. We only receive confirmation from Apple that a subscription is active.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

Create and manage user accounts
Provide personalized features and save your favorites
Send occasional service-related updates (with your consent)

3. Data Storage and Security

Your personal information is securely stored using industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. We maintain a comprehensive information security program in compliance with Massachusetts data protection regulations (201 CMR 17.00). Redis caching is used only for temporary user session data and is regularly cleared. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. We use trusted third-party service providers (e.g., cloud infrastructure and database services) to host and operate our backend. These providers are contractually required to provide at least the same level of protection for your data as described in this Policy and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We do not use advertising, marketing, or analytics cookies. We use essential session cookies only for authentication and functionality. No third-party tracking or analytics services are used.

Fincards is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

We comply with applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Economic Area, and other relevant regulations.
